Nope. The remnants aren’t scheduled to reach us until Sunday. This flooding of our entire street, and basement, is brought to you by a regular every day storm.
Needless to say, the sump pump is going nuts trying to keep up with the water pouring through the basement windows.
Ughh.
Photos do not do the amount of water justice.

We’re okay. We picked up a top of the line shop vac. Five different people offered their shop vacs but this isn’t the first time we’ve had water in the basement. Never more than a little bit but enough to soak 1/4th of the carpet. It was a wise investment to get our own shop vac and a heavy duty one at that. I just spent the last 4 hours vacuuming up the water. Over 256 gallons so far. Miriam slept the entire time so Becca was able to rest.
It’s still raining but not too bad. I’ll check later to see if I need to vacuum up more water.
The shop vac has to be the best investment so far for the house. It has a easy to unscrew drain plug that I remove so I can drain the water into the sump pump hole.
So to the five people that offered their shop vacs, thank you but we needed our own and a heavy duty one.
